Kirsten Vangsness has been an American actor since the early 1990s. The most notable part of her career was that of Penelope Garcia, in the popular police procedural crime show Criminal Minds. Kirsten Vangsness played Penelope Garcia in the tv series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and also in two of its spin-offs, including Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour. Alongside her role as a television actor Vangsness has also appeared in small roles in a couple of films after making her acting debut in 1998. Her notable works in the field of film include her roles in 'In My Dream The Chicago 8 with 'Kill Me, Deadly'. Her work has been published in The Los Angeles Times. As also a playwright, she co-wrote three episodes for Criminal Minds. She frequently rescues and rehabilitates abandoned or injured cats.
